National Kids to Parks Day was created to encourage kids and their families to visit one of America's national, state or local parks and promote environmental stewardship and healthy outdoor activity. Look through some animal hides and bones on display. Douthat staff will share the traditional processes for hide tanning. Car Show Bring your family to the 14th Annual Douthat Lake Run Car Show. . Classic Cars . Inflatable Bounce Castle . Fun Children's Activities Food . Vendors will be available. BBQ Rib Cook-Off . For rules contact the park office at 540-862-8114 . No registration fee is required. . Winner of the Cook-Off will win a free weekend cabin stay at any Virginia State Park! Camping Package . Douthat is also offering a "Camping Package Deal" for Car Show Participants to enjoy Whispering Pines Campground. The $60 package includes two nights camping at Whispering Pines Campground and one free two-day car show registration.
